Safety Guidelines

Your safety and well-being are our top priority

WannaDate? is a social dating connection platform only. We do not provide or permit escorting, prostitution, or sexual services. We facilitate introductions and messaging, but off-platform communication, meetings, and payments are solely between users. We do not guarantee that any date will occur or go as expected, and we are not responsible for off-platform conduct. The platform is provided "as-is" without warranties. Users are solely responsible for their content and interactions. WannaDate? is a platform, not a publisher—we facilitate connections but do not create, edit, or control user-generated content.

How We Protect You
What WannaDate? does to keep our community safe
  • Content moderation: We enforce our Community Guidelines and review reported content
  • Report & block tools: You can report or block any user who makes you uncomfortable
  • Email verification: We verify email addresses to reduce fake accounts
  • Reviews & ratings: Completed dates can be rated so you can see how others experienced that user
  • Account enforcement: We investigate reports and may warn, suspend, or permanently ban users who violate our terms
Before Meeting in Person
Essential steps to take before your date
1

Chat First

Have meaningful conversations before meeting. Get to know the person's interests, goals, and communication style.

2

Verify Identity

Verify their profile information and ask for additional verification if needed. Look for completed dates and positive reviews.

3

Video Chat First (When Possible)

A quick video call before meeting in person can help you confirm who they are and feel more comfortable. WannaDate does not offer video calling—any video chat happens off-platform and is solely between users. If you choose to video chat, use a link-based service (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) that does not require exchanging phone numbers. We do not recommend sharing personal contact information on the platform and are not responsible for off-platform communication.

4

Keep Social and Dating Separate

Avoid using the same photos from your social media on your dating profile, and don't link your dating profile to your social accounts. Keeping them separate helps protect your privacy and reduces the risk of unwanted contact.

5

Discuss arrangements upfront

Clearly discuss and agree on how you'll arrange the details and expectations before the date. Be transparent about expectations.

6

Share Your Plans

Tell a trusted friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to return.

7

Use "Share Location" Feature

Consider sharing your live location with a friend using your phone's built-in location sharing features.

Meeting in Public Places
Choose safe locations for your dates

✓ Recommended First Date Locations:

  • Coffee shops or cafes (public, well-lit, lots of people)
  • Restaurants (public dining areas, not private rooms)
  • Parks or public spaces (during daylight hours)
  • Museums or cultural events (public settings)

Protect yourself from scams

Use a method you both agree on

Choose a method you're comfortable with. Avoid wire transfers or unusual requests.

Set Clear Boundaries

Discuss payment expectations before the date. Never pay in advance for future dates.

Watch for Red Flags

Be cautious of users requesting large amounts upfront, gift cards, or unusual arrangements.
