Before Meeting in Person
Essential steps to take before your date
Chat First
Have meaningful conversations before meeting. Get to know the person's interests, goals, and communication style.
Verify Identity
Verify their profile information and ask for additional verification if needed. Look for completed dates and positive reviews.
Keep Chat to Logistics
Use chat to plan the time, place, and safety of your date only. Never negotiate money, gifts, allowances, or services—WannaDate? has zero tolerance for transactional dating.
Share Your Plans
Tell a trusted friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to return.
Use "Share Location" Feature
Consider sharing your live location with a friend using your phone's built-in location sharing features.
Meeting in Public Places
Choose safe locations for your dates
✓ Recommended First Date Locations:
- •Coffee shops or cafes (public, well-lit, lots of people)
- •Restaurants (public dining areas, not private rooms)
- •Parks or public spaces (during daylight hours)
- •Museums or cultural events (public settings)
Financial Safety & Platform Boundary
How money works on WannaDate?—and how to stay safe
Platform-access fees only
WannaDate? only charges platform-access fees (tokens and Premium). We never facilitate, broker, process, or receive any payment between members.
Never send money or gifts to another member
Do not send cash, deposits, gift cards, or gifts to someone you met here, and do not accept requests for them. WannaDate? has zero tolerance for paid dating, escorting, allowances, or other transactional arrangements.
Watch for red flags
Be cautious of anyone who asks for money, gift cards, deposits, or any payment in exchange for time or companionship. This violates our rules.
