Refund Options
We offer multiple refund options to accommodate your needs

At WannaDate?, we understand that circumstances may change. We offer refunds in the following forms:

Fastest resolution: Token credits and Premium extensions are usually the fastest options once approved. Card refunds remain available, but posting times depend on the payment processor and issuing bank.

Token Balance Credits

Instant credit to your token balance for future use

Premium Extensions

Instant extension of your premium subscription period

How to Request a Refund
Contact us to initiate a refund request

To request a refund, please contact us via email at [email protected] with the following information:

  • Your account email address
  • Transaction ID or date of purchase
  • Type of purchase (tokens or premium subscription)
  • Preferred refund method (card refund, token credit, or premium extension)
  • Reason for refund request (required)
  • Supporting evidence (required for no-show/cancellation/harassment claims)
  • Requests should be submitted within 14 days of the incident or charge date

Processing Time

We will acknowledge your refund request within 2 business days and provide a decision within 7 business days of receiving all required information. Credit card refunds are then processed within 5-10 business days after approval. Token credits and premium extensions are applied instantly upon approval.

Token & Premium Refunds: What Qualifies?
Criteria for token credits and premium extensions (we control these; credit card refunds are handled by our payment processor)

Token credits and premium extensions are processed at our discretion. Below is a guide to what we generally consider refund-worthy vs. not. Credit card refunds are handled by our payment processor per their terms; contact support to inquire about eligibility.

Important claim rules: Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Only one remedy is issued per transaction (card refund, token credit, or premium extension). Duplicate or abusive claims may be denied.

Typically qualifies (with documentation)

  • Documented no-show (ghosted): You have proof in chat of a scheduled date (time, place, agreement) and the other party did not show and did not cancel.
  • Last-minute cancellation by the other party: Clear evidence they agreed to a date then cancelled or never showed; we may consider a token or premium refund.
  • Platform or product failure: A token was charged but something on our side failed (e.g. double-charge, acceptance did not create the chat, subscription renewed in error). We will make it right.
  • Fraud or impersonation: You were defrauded or the other user was impersonating someone; once we verify, we may issue a token or premium refund.

Reviewed case-by-case

  • Other party blocked you right after accepting: May be abuse or a mistake; we review with context.
  • Date cancelled by the other party with some notice: Depends on timing and whether they offered to reschedule.

Safety or harassment incidents

If you experienced a safety incident or harassment, please report it using the in-app report flow or our Safety page. We review safety reports on their own merits. Where a safety determination relates to a recent platform-fee charge (for example, a token spent on a chat that we removed for a policy violation), we may, in our discretion, issue a token credit referencing the safety case.

Typically does not qualify

  • Changing your mind after a request was accepted
  • You blocked the other party (you chose to end the connection)
  • Disagreements in chat (logistics, tone, or compatibility) that do not involve a no-show or platform failure
  • “The date didn’t go well” — acceptance does not guarantee chemistry or outcome

Chargeback prevention: Please contact us first so we can attempt a fast resolution before you file a bank dispute. In most approved cases, token credits or premium extensions are the quickest remedy. If a chargeback is opened, account billing features may be temporarily limited while the dispute is under review.

Important: Purchasing tokens or a Premium subscription gives you access to tools and features on our platform only. It does not guarantee that any date request will be accepted or that any date will occur. We facilitate connections between users but cannot control the actions or decisions of individual users.

Premium Subscription Cancellation
Cancel your premium subscription at any time

You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel:

  • Your subscription will not auto-renew
  • You will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period
  • No refund will be issued for the current billing period unless you request one
  • You can resubscribe at any time

Taxes on Refunds

If sales tax or another tax was collected on the original charge, that tax is refunded together with the underlying platform fee back to the original payment method, in accordance with applicable law and our payment processor's policies. Please see our Terms of Service for our general tax disclosure.

Legal Notice

This refund policy is part of our Terms of Service. See also our Privacy Policy and Online Dating Safety Policy. By using our platform, you agree to these terms. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, card-network rules, or state-specific dating service statutes (including cooling-off, death, and disability rights described in the “Special State Terms” section of our Terms of Service). In the event of any conflict between this Refund Policy and the Special State Terms in our Terms of Service, the Special State Terms will control for eligible residents. This policy may be updated from time to time, and we will notify users of any material changes.
