Appeals & Takedown Policy
We provide three separate pathways depending on your situation. Please choose the track that matches your request.
If you appear in user-generated content posted on the Services and would like that content removed — including for privacy, non-consensual, or impersonation reasons — email [email protected] with the subject line "Content Removal Request" and include:
- Your full name and a contact email address
- The exact URL(s), username(s), or screenshot(s) identifying the content
- Your relationship to the depicted person (self or authorized representative)
- Whether consent was given, withdrawn, or never provided
- Any supporting evidence you can share
Timeline: We will acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and aim to provide a substantive response within 7 business days of receiving all required information. Non-consensual intimate imagery reports are handled on an expedited basis — see Track C below.
If we removed, restricted, or limited your content or account and you believe that action was made in error, email [email protected] with the subject line "Moderation Appeal" and include:
- Your account email address or username
- The date and a description of the action being appealed (or any reference number we sent you)
- The reason you believe the action was incorrect
- Any context or evidence you would like considered
Timeline: We will acknowledge within 2 business days and aim to respond within 7 business days. Appeals are reviewed independently of the original decision where staffing allows, or escalated to a senior reviewer.
Neutral body escalation: If a disagreement remains after our internal review, we may offer escalation to a mutually agreed third-party neutral body where appropriate. Scope and outcome will follow the agreed process and applicable law.
While an appeal is pending, removed content will remain unavailable unless we determine, in our discretion, that restoration pending review is appropriate. Your account access will not be affected solely due to a pending appeal unless separate grounds for suspension exist.
Reports involving non-consensual intimate imagery are treated as a priority. You do not need to provide extensive documentation to begin this process — the content location is enough to start.
Email [email protected] with the subject line "NCII — Urgent Removal" and include:
- The URL or description of the location of the content
- Your name and a contact email
- A brief statement that the imagery was shared without your consent
Timeline: We target acknowledgment within 1 business day and will make best efforts to make the content unavailable while we verify your report. We will not retaliate against anyone who submits a good-faith report.
Additional resources:
- Adults: You may also use the StopNCII.org image-hash service to have your images flagged across participating platforms.
- Content involving anyone under 18: Please report immediately to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertipline.org or 1-800-843-5678.
